What is this event like?

St. Ives will be the point of entry for this event, which is planning to focus on the old-school values of renaissance faires past:“Nottingham Festival will recreate the magic and revelry of an Elizabethan faire and marketplace with street performers and stage acts that will provide entertainment for all ages. Craft workers and re-enactors from various guilds will entreat you to experience a taste of the handicrafts and lifestyle of the 16th Century. Our hope is that you will be well entertained and maybe even learn a thing or two about the time period and its people. Proceeds from this non-profit festival will be granted to smaller non-profit agencies in the surrounding communities, as well as some set aside for the further development of the arts programs for youth.”

What is St. Ives’ time commitment for this event?

Nottingham Village setup will begin around 2:00 pm on Friday, November 15 2013. Call time Sat/Sun is 8 am. Teardown will be Sunday beginning at 5:00.

What is usually provided by the event/St. Ives?

Food and water are coordinated by your St. Ives household (Guildhall, Tavern, Forge, etc.); food and beverages may also be purchased on-site. The event will provide St. Ives with two designated backstage privies.

Is there camping? Where do folks stay?

Nottingham Festival 2014 will have on-site camping.

This is a brand new event, in which one of our own (Christina Veneroso McCann) is playing Queen Elizabeth. We are very excited about this new venture!
